EOWA 2010 - Australian Census for Women in Leadership - Women continue to be under-represented in the most senior corporate positions

It wasn’t serendipity, but EOWA (Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency) has today posted the most recent data on women on board positions in the ASX 200 companies - and the data tells a predictable and sad story. In eight years, the number of women on the Boards has increased 1%. At this rate, it will be conservatively 336 years before women are 50% of Board positions! It sounds ridiculous, but why would we think it would change. Dattner Grant has taken the position that the issue is deadly serious. We need to take action now. We have launched Compass to support, in some small way, a change which, in the end, should serve us all.

For things to change, we have to change our thinking. We should all be part of this new narrative; it serves men and women equally.
